The vet who gave raw feeding a framework
Dr Ian Billinghurst is the Australian veterinarian who developed the BARF model, Biologically Appropriate Raw Food, and put evolutionary nutrition on the map for dogs. His work is the reason raw feeding has a scientific framework based on evolution rather than being just another fad.
The science is sound. Dogs did not evolve on cooked and processed food. The closer a food programme sits to the model their bodies were shaped by, the better it will serve them.
Our recipes are built on that model: whole foods fed in evolutionary ratios, then freeze-dried with 97 per cent of the nutrients intact.
